I’m Caleb Turner. I started Loft Thirteen because I believe furniture deserves a closer look — past the beautiful photos and into the materials, joints, finishes, and little decisions that determine whether a piece will last.
A good-looking room is only half the story.
I’ve spent more than a decade around furniture and woodworking, from hands-on workshop experience in Texas to studying how everyday pieces are put together. Somewhere along the way, I became the person who checks the underside of a table before admiring its top.
That’s the spirit behind Loft Thirteen. Industrial and loft-style interiors caught my attention for their honest mix of wood, steel, texture, and useful simplicity. But that look is easy to imitate. Strong joinery, a sensible finish, and reliable hardware are harder to fake.
I want these guides to make the practical questions easier: What’s it made from? Will it feel solid? Is it suitable for the space? And is it worth paying for?
I look beyond the finish.
